To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the CITIZEN ATTESA brand, Citizen has released the second installment: a limited edition model, produced in 1,000 units worldwide, featuring newly developed "Crystalline Titanium." This collaboration with the private lunar exploration program "HAKUTO-R" launched on July 7, 2022.

Launched in 1987, "CITIZEN ATTESA" is a brand that embodies cutting-edge technology of its era, positioned to support globally active business professionals.

To celebrate the brand's 35th anniversary, following its collaboration with the Nissan Fairlady Z, a second partnership has been announced with the private lunar exploration program "HAKUTO-R."

For "HAKUTO-R," scheduled for launch around the end of 2022, Citizen's Super Titanium is being used for the landing gear components of the lander. The collaboration model combines this Super Titanium, treated with the same "DURATECT DLC" as the lander's landing gear, with Citizen's newly developed "Crystalline Titanium," creating a special timepiece befitting the brand's 35th anniversary.

"Crystalline Titanium" is a material created by heat-treating titanium at high temperatures and then cooling it, causing its structure to bond unevenly and form crystalline patterns on the surface. Like natural minerals, each of these crystalline patterns is unique, offering an appearance that captures the lunar surface from various angles.

Furthermore, the high temperatures required for crystallization cause the material to expand, demanding advanced techniques for intricate processing. This cutting-edge "Crystalline Titanium" is used for the bezel and the center links of the bracelet. The dial and case band are unified in black, evoking the darkness of space, an unknown frontier for humanity. The dial features a layered structure with rings, indices, and sub-dial rings, with patterns inspired by titanium crystals rendered in black tones.

The case back features a schematic of the "HAKUTO-R" lander, made with Super Titanium, underscoring the special nature of this model.

In terms of functionality, it is equipped with the F950 movement, the top-tier Eco-Drive GPS satellite-controlled watch movement, capable of receiving time signals in as little as 3 seconds, the fastest in the world for time-only reception. It also boasts full specifications, including Double Direct Flight and a 1/20th second chronograph.
