CITIZEN has announced and released a commemorative limited edition model for its "CITIZEN" brand, which celebrates its 100th anniversary. This new model is part of the "CITIZEN Series 8" collection, a mechanical watch brand known for its modern, sporty design that combines functionality and practicality. The release date was September 12, 2024 (Thursday).

This model is based on the "880 Mechanical" but features special details as a commemorative edition. It retains the distinctive three-dimensional form of the "880 Mechanical," including its two-part center case structure. Each case part is finished in different colors, gray and blue, accentuating the appealing case construction characteristic of CITIZEN Series 8.

Furthermore, the bracelet, seamlessly connected to the lugless case, also features a gray and blue combination color, creating a cohesive design throughout. The dial is crafted from white mother-of-pearl with a blue gradation, offering a beautiful finish.

The movement is the Caliber 9054, equipped with a GMT function. This allows for the confirmation of up to three different time zones using the bidirectional rotating bezel. The watch is designed to be useful for international travel and business trips, as the main time can be adjusted in one-hour increments by moving only the hour hand, without affecting the minute, second, or 24-hour hands.

The movement features "2 types of anti-magnetic resistance," enhancing its ability to mitigate the impact of magnetic fields from smartphones and tablets on the watch's timekeeping accuracy. It achieves high performance with an average daily accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds and a power reserve of approximately 50 hours. The case back is a see-through sapphire crystal, allowing for a visual appreciation of the movement's operation.
