OMEGA's "Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Stainless Steel" is set for release in 2020. This watch is slated to feature the legendary Calibre 321, revived in January 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

In January 2019, OMEGA announced the long-awaited revival of its iconic Calibre 321, and in July of the same year, the new timepiece "Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Platinum," the first to house this movement, was unveiled.

Now, in 2020, a stainless steel model inheriting this legendary calibre, the "Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Stainless Steel," is being released.

The original Calibre 321, known for its complex and beautiful design, famously powered the first Speedmaster released in 1957. Furthermore, in 1965, astronaut Ed White wore the Speedmaster ST 105.003 as official NASA equipment during the first American spacewalk. Inspired by this epoch-making model, the latest "Speedmaster Moonwatch 321 Stainless Steel" has been born.

This piece reflects the design of the third-generation Speedmaster favored by Ed White. It features a 39.7mm stainless steel case, a polished black ceramic (zirconium oxide) bezel ring, a tachymeter scale in white enamel, and a black stepped dial with a recessed surface, all of which are striking.

Adorning the dial are "Moonwatch" style hands, a small seconds sub-dial, a 30-minute counter, a 12-hour counter, and the chronograph hand. Also not to be missed are the iconic "dot over 90" (a dot above the 90 marker on the tachymeter, which appeared on the side or diagonally on later models) and the vintage OMEGA logo. The overall design faithfully reproduces details reminiscent of the original. And the Calibre 321 can be admired at any time through the sapphire crystal case back.
