The New Tissot PRX: Reinterpreting the Original 1978 Model with a Slim, Integrated Case and Sharp Design
The Tissot PRX Quartz, a slim and sharp high-precision quartz model reinterpreting the 1978 heritage, is being released. Available in three dial colors—blue, black, and silver gray—it launches on February 26, 2021. Pre-orders are being accepted until February 25 (Thursday) at the Tissot official online store and Tissot boutiques.

A Solid Texture and Slim Integrated Design Captivate
Leveraging Tissot's extensive library, built over 168 years of history, the original 1978 model has been reinterpreted. The Tissot PRX Quartz, further refined and updated for higher precision, is now released.
The original featured sharp indices, a slim case housing a quartz movement, and a wide, integrated bracelet with horizontal links. It was later named "PRX," a combination of "Precise and Robust" and "X" for its 10 bar water resistance.
In the new model, while retaining the vintage feel of the 1970s throughout the watch, the design has been updated with smooth, beautiful lines that transition seamlessly from the case to the wider links of the bracelet. The polished bezel exudes a cool, lustrous sheen, flowing into the satin-finished 40mm case with subtle detailing, intentionally connecting at an angle rather than vertically.
These delicate finishing techniques showcase the craftsmanship Tissot has cultivated throughout its long history. Functionally, the bracelet, developed with ergonomics for mobility and flexibility, offers a smooth fit, while the slim case conforms to the wrist, providing excellent wearability and practicality.
Color variations include a sunray-finished blue dial that highlights its beauty when catching the light, a black dial conveying intelligence and calm, and a silver gray dial paired with rose gold indices to brighten the wrist. All models feature Super-LumiNova® coated hands for excellent legibility at night.
The case offers a smooth wearing experience and a practical 10 bar water resistance suitable for daily use. This timepiece transcends time, created for those who value their accessories.
Ahead of the official launch on February 26, 2021, pre-orders are being accepted at the Tissot official online store and Tissot boutiques in Ginza, Daikanyama, and Ebisu. Early pre-order customers will receive a special Tissot original novelty gift. Two types of gifts are available: a watch care kit from the Tissot official online store, and an accessory tray from Tissot boutiques.
To commemorate the release of this model, a "Tissot Spring Campaign" is being held until May 10 (Monday), offering complimentary engraving of custom messages or text on the case back.
