Symbolizing the Partnership with Kessel Classics
The "Tissot Heritage 1973" sports chronograph model, which inherits the spirit of the racing watch born in 1973, has been released with new black and blue colorways, faithfully recreating the three-dimensional, soft lines of its oval cushion-shaped case and its richly colored details.
Tissot has drawn diverse inspiration from the world of motorsport—a realm that shares Tissot's common ethos of "challenging time" through passion, precision, and innovation—to create numerous masterpieces. For instance, the distinctive perforated leather strap used in the "Tissot Heritage 1973" was developed by Tissot in the 1960s, inspired by racing car steering wheels.
In the 1970s, Tissot sponsored Alpine, which dominated rally circuits, and also participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche. Then, in 1976, Tissot entered Formula 1 alongside the young Swiss driver Loris Kessel. Racing cars bearing the Tissot logo sped through the world's premier racing series, forging a historic bond with motorsport.
In 2018, Tissot revived its strong partnership with the Kessel family as the official partner of Kessel Classics, owners of Formula 1 cars, adding a new chapter to the history of motor racing.
The "Tissot Heritage 1973" is a sports chronograph model that inherits the spirit of the racing watch manufactured in 1973, recreating its three-dimensional, soft lines and richly colored details with an oval cushion-shaped case. The case form, which draws a three-dimensional curve, exudes a refined elegance with its meticulous finishing, featuring both brushed and polished surfaces, blending sporty aesthetics with a classical charm.
The box-shaped crystal, inherited from the vintage model, is made of sapphire crystal. The baton hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent legibility by emitting a green glow even in the dark.
