A new collaboration model, the "Tissot PRX UFO Robot Grendizer Special Edition," has arrived as a new release in Tissot's popular PRX collection, inspired by the 1970s anime "UFO Robot Grendizer."

Tissot is a watchmaking maison founded in Switzerland in 1853. This collaboration represents a new endeavor to fuse the design essence of the 70s with manga content that symbolizes Japanese pop culture.

This model aims to offer a special experience not only to fans who were enthusiastic about "UFO Robot Grendizer" in the 70s, but also to new fans of the anime "Grendizer U," which is set to begin broadcasting in Japan from the summer of 2024.

This model merges elements of the anime series "UFO Robot Grendizer," which gained popularity in the 70s, with the PRX, inspired by Tissot's iconic models from the same decade. The year 1978, when the Seastar – the prototype for the PRX – was released, was also the year "UFO Robot Grendizer" was broadcast in Europe, marking a fateful encounter.

The case is crafted from 40mm 316L stainless steel, and the vibrant blue dial features an engraving of Grendizer's bust, illuminated by yellow Super-LumiNova®. Furthermore, a seconds hand shaped like Grendizer's signature weapon, the "Harken," and a rotor engraved with Grendizer's bust, fully reflect the world of the anime.

The inner flange of the dial is inscribed with "UFOロボグレンダイザー" (UFO Robot Grendizer) in Japanese, symbolizing the fusion of Swiss watchmaking expertise and Japanese pop culture.

The movement features a Powermatic 80 automatic mechanical movement, boasting high precision and antimagnetic properties thanks to its Nivachron™ balance spring, offering a power reserve of up to 80 hours. It is also equipped with a sapphire crystal front and a mineral glass case back, ensuring reliability for any occasion with 10 bar (100 meters) water resistance.

True to the collaboration, the package includes a dedicated watch box. Designed after "UFO Spacer," the flying saucer mecha from "UFO Robot Grendizer," the outer box features artwork printed by the original creator, Go Nagai.
