A. Lange & Söhne has unveiled a new model of the Saxonia Flach, featuring an 18K pink gold case paired with a sparkling goldstone dial crafted from solid silver. This graceful timepiece was produced in a limited edition of 50 units.

The new Saxonia Flach from A. Lange & Söhne is an elegant watch with a blue dial that, when catching the light, reveals copper-colored particles that shimmer enchantingly, reminiscent of a starry sky. The blue dial within this slim, two-hand watch is made of solid silver with a thin layer of goldstone applied. Thousands of copper oxide crystals embedded in this layer reflect light, creating a mystical sparkle.

The production of goldstone is highly specialized, with its origins tracing back to 17th-century Venice. Copper particles are mixed into molten glass and heated; as the temperature is gradually reduced, the copper particles form extremely fine crystals. By carefully pouring this molten glass onto the surface of the solid silver dial, a dial with micro-crystals that shimmer is created.

The elegant design of this piece is born from the philosophy that value is enhanced by "less is more"—by distilling elements to their essence. The 40mm 18K pink gold case, with its distinctively curved lugs, ensures a comfortable fit on the wrist. The hour and minute hands, as well as the hour markers, are also crafted from 18K pink gold, matching the case. The slender bezel framing the case and the goldstone sparkling on the perfectly flat dial surface create a visual effect akin to looking through a telescope. The strap, made of dark blue leather with a shimmering finish, is paired with a pink gold pin buckle, lending an air of refinement to the entire watch.

The heart of this timepiece is the manually wound Calibre L093.1, developed and produced by A. Lange & Söhne. Measuring just 2.9 millimeters in thickness, this is the manufactory's thinnest movement, yet it boasts a power reserve of 72 hours. The assembly using the double-train system and the hand-finished decorative elements adhere to A. Lange & Söhne's highest quality standards.
