The 36th America's Cup, held in 2021, marks Omega's appointment as Official Timekeeper

EDITOR’S EYE
The refreshing tricolor scheme complements the edgy design of the Planet Ocean.
The color palette, which deviates from the typical "diver's watch" look, evokes an elegance befitting the world's premier yacht race.
The motif is subtly expressed on the seconds hand's counterweight and the see-through case back.

Omega announced its role as Official Timekeeper for the 36th America's Cup sailing competition, to be held in 2021, and released a commemorative limited edition model at the end of May 2020.

A blue ceramic diving bezel evoking the refreshing open sea

The America's Cup, which began in 1851, boasts the oldest trophy in international sports and is renowned for the fierce races its participating nations conduct on the water.
Omega has served as Official Timekeeper three times since forming a partnership with Emirates Team New Zealand in 1995. The 36th edition in 2021 returns to New Zealand, where Omega will enhance the event as timekeeper with newly developed technology and innovative equipment.
Furthermore, as a commemorative limited edition, the "Seamaster Planet Ocean 36th America's Cup Limited Edition" was released, with production limited to 2021 pieces to match the year of the event. It features a blue ceramic diving bezel reminiscent of the invigorating sea, with a five-minute countdown for racing marked in white and red liquid ceramic.
The polished white ceramic dial bears the event's name at the 6 o'clock position, and the America's Cup special logo adorns the counterweight of the central seconds hand.
The sapphire crystal case back is also engraved with the regatta's logo, offering a view of the Master Chronometer Caliber 8900 within.
