From BALL WATCH, which develops robust and reliable practical mechanical watches, the "Engineer Hydrocarbon Original," an iconic timepiece embodying the brand's development philosophy of "Tough & Dependable," has been released.

Since its debut in 2004, the "Engineer Hydrocarbon" has reigned as a long-selling series and is the flagship line that showcases the proprietary technologies developed and researched by BALL WATCH. This new "Engineer Hydrocarbon Original" incorporates all the BALL technologies cultivated over 15 years since the series' launch, significantly enhancing visibility, shock resistance, magnetic resistance, and water resistance, while reducing the case diameter to a trend-conscious 40mm.

First, the two-layer dial is noteworthy. The lower layer incorporates self-powered micro gas lights, and the upper layer features holes for the indices. By layering them like a sandwich, indices in the form of dots and triangles, as seen in this model, were realized.

Furthermore, by recessing the micro gas light positions, the luminous points become clearer, improving visibility. The contrast with the brushed black dial is also enhanced, adding to its beauty. A total of 15 micro gas lights are equipped on the dial, along with the hour, minute, and second hands.

It's also important to note that the "Engineer Hydrocarbon Original" is packed with BALL WATCH's original functions. The patented "Spring Lock anti-shock system," which enhances shock resistance, acts like a guardrail during impacts, suppressing excessive movement of the balance spring, preventing deformation and entanglement, and reducing the impact's effect by up to 66%. It also features the similarly patented "Spring Seal anti-shock system," which secures the regulator lever that fine-tunes the watch's timekeeping with a special plate. These features neutralize all external damage, maintaining high accuracy.

Additionally, it incorporates the "Amortizer shock absorption ring" to protect the movement and the "Spring Lock crown system" (patented) to guard the crown. The watch itself has undergone tests exceeding the shock resistance standards for wristwatches set by the international standard ISO1413, guaranteeing a shock resistance of up to 7500 Gs, the highest level for mechanical watches.

For magnetic resistance, a movement holder and inner case made of Mu-metal achieve a magnetic resistance of 80,000 A/m. Water resistance is ensured to 200 meters, the standard for dive watches, thanks to the screw-down crown and case back. The unidirectional rotating bezel, used for timing dives, features a design that promotes water drainage, preventing rust and facilitating maintenance. The surface is made of hard sapphire crystal, with Super-LumiNova® applied to the numerals and markers, allowing for clear reading of elapsed minutes underwater or in the dark.

The "Engineer Hydrocarbon Original" is a special anniversary model that combines a diver-style design, conscious of returning to its roots, with a COSC-certified chronometer automatic movement and a host of high-performance, unique BALL WATCH technologies.
