A Sleek Form and Ultra-Thin Case Evoking Modern Architecture

Gucci has unveiled the "GUCCI 25H," powered by its first in-house caliber, "GUCCI GG727.25," developed and manufactured at Kering's cutting-edge movement manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The caliber name incorporates numbers frequently used in Gucci collections: '7' signifies completeness, '2' represents harmony and cooperation, and '5' embodies curiosity and freedom.
This creation utilizes functional and industrial materials like stainless steel, featuring a sleek form and structure that evokes modern architecture. The exceptionally thin case houses a mechanism born from Swiss high manufacturing technology, while the exterior boasts clean, sporty lines with contrasting finishes, exuding a presence befitting high watchmaking.
This design concept is also evident in the dial, which features a rhythmic horizontal satin-brushed finish, and the iconic Interlocking G motif. This collection, embodying a contemporary style, is available in stainless steel models, stainless steel models adorned with pavé-set diamonds, and gender-neutral models, as well as platinum and 18K yellow gold versions equipped with a tourbillon.
The bracelet, designed to integrate seamlessly with the multi-layered, slim case, lends the watch a sense of fluidity and unity. Alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes create a play of light and shadow, adding depth. The number '25' in the watch's name is Alessandro Michele's lucky number and a recurring motif in Gucci collections, making it a playful and iconic designation.
The "GUCCI 25H" Automatic Steel features a remarkably thin, three-layered case measuring just 7.2 millimeters. To maintain the sleek profile of the 40mm case, a flat bezel with no protrusions conceals the crown, and the skillful balance of these architectural details emphasizes its contemporary character. Dark grey lines with a horizontal satin-brushed finish lend the dial a delicate depth, accented by the caliber name "GG727.25.A" in red. The Interlocking G motif is positioned at 12 o'clock, with the GUCCI logo and "Automatic" text in black directly below. The novel skeleton hands are tipped with Super-LumiNova® dots, and the delicate stick indices are also treated with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring easy readability even in low light.
Turning the watch over, the caliber "GUCCI GG727.25.A" can be seen in motion through the sapphire crystal case back. The 24-jewel movement, featuring a 3Hz (21,600 vibrations/hour) variable inertia balance, is automatically wound by a micro-rotor and offers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. The movement plates are engraved with Gucci's unique wave pattern and the caliber name "GG727.25.A." Furthermore, a five-link bracelet with a butterfly buckle, engraved with the GUCCI lettering, ensures comfortable wear. This model is scheduled to be available in Japan from Autumn 2021.
In addition to the models planned for release in Japan, the "GUCCI 25H" Automatic Diamonds was announced, featuring 82 brilliant-cut diamonds set in a circle around the straight lines of the case. The dazzling sparkle and innovative design enhance the distinctive cushion-shaped bezel.
The "GUCCI 25H" Tourbillon is available in two models: one crafted from precious platinum, offering exceptional durability and strength, and another in 18K yellow gold, presenting a magnificent impression. Both feature an exceptionally thin case measuring just 8 millimeters. The movement plates are adorned with a specially designed guilloché pattern, and are engraved with the caliber name "GUCCI GG727.25.T" and the Interlocking G logo. Through advanced high watchmaking techniques and exquisite finishing by artisans, these timepieces embody the essence of Gucci's rich heritage, innovation, and aesthetic.
