The "Eco-Drive Dome," a concept model from CITIZEN announced at Baselworld 2009, will be released on "Time Day" (June 10th) in a worldwide limited edition of 500 units.

"Eco-Drive" is light-powered technology that runs continuously anytime, anywhere as long as there is light, eliminating the need for battery changes. As an homage to Eco-Drive, CITIZEN has presented concept models each year at Basel, expressing its unique worldview. Models pursuing new possibilities in Eco-Drive and design are unveiled annually, and this year too, "Eco-Drive Eyes," which depicts the relationship between shadow and light, and "Eco-Drive Loop," expressing the loop of light and time, were delicate and beautiful works that recently garnered attention.



And this June, the "Eco-Drive Dome" concept model, unveiled last year, will be commercially available on "Time Day" (the 10th) in a worldwide limited edition of 500 units (2 models, 250 units each). The concept behind this dynamic model is "wearing clean energy from light." The three-dimensional dial with a transparent inner ring, the dome-shaped glass, and the curved case integrated with the glass combine to evoke a design reminiscent of a "planet" from the near future. Available in two variants, white and black, both feature CITIZEN's meticulous craftsmanship, including the "White Pearl Coating" with its metallic pearl luster and the "Multi-way Polish" achieved through unique processing of Duratect DLC. The white and black represent "intelligence," Eco-Drive embodies "passion," and the Japanese origin signifies "innovation" – the much-anticipated arrival of CITIZEN's concept model.
