Seiko 5 Sports, Seiko's casual watch brand, has released two new models featuring its first-ever GMT function. These are evolved versions of the new Seiko 5 Sports, developed based on the beloved "SKX model." The newly developed mechanical GMT movement has been introduced, and the models are available in black and blue.

This series marks the first time a GMT function, which displays the time in two time zones, has been incorporated.

Supported worldwide for over 50 years since 1968, "Seiko 5 Sports" was redesigned in 2019 as the "new" Seiko Sports with a concept of "5 styles" symbolizing the modern era. In 2022, the collection was further evolved with the introduction of a newly developed mechanical GMT movement in the "Sports Style," designed to enhance active scenes.

The practicality and beauty of the new Seiko 5 Sports, developed based on the "SKX model," have been further advanced. The newly developed mechanical caliber "4R34" is equipped with a GMT function, displaying the time in two different time zones by having the hour hand and 24-hour (GMT) hand indicate separate times.

The rotating bezel, featuring a two-color display for instant day/night recognition, uses a glossy Hardlex glass. The metallic tones achieved through vacuum deposition gleam beautifully, offering different expressions depending on the angle of light reflection.

The vibrant red GMT hand, designed with contrast to black or blue dials, prevents misreading with other hands. Its Lumibrite-coated tip ensures visibility in dark conditions. Additionally, a magnifier at the 3 o'clock position greatly enlarges the calendar display, combining practicality with aesthetic appeal.

The metal bracelet, with its short lug pitch, offers both a comfortable weight and a pleasant fit on the wrist. The three-dimensional, convex links create rhythmic shadows, resulting in a classic impression that blends newness with nostalgia.
