Manufacture Movement Wins “Golden Balance Wheel 2009”

Carl F. Bucherer's automatic caliber “CFB A1000” has received a special technical award at the “Goldene Unruh (Golden Balance Wheel),” a contest that recognizes outstanding movements worldwide.

This contest, led by the German watch magazine “Uhren Magazin,” aims to evaluate the development and originality of in-house calibers. It serves as a competition to rebuild the technical foundation of mechanical watches by establishing this award.

The award-winning in-house automatic caliber “CFB A1000” by Carl F. Bucherer is, of course, born from rich creativity that aligns with this objective. It is a groundbreaking movement that combines both technical prowess and aesthetic beauty.

This “CFB A1000,” which garnered immediate attention upon its announcement at last year's Baselworld, features a peripheral rotor system for winding, rather than a central rotor, and a bidirectional winding mechanism.

Equipped with the “CFB A1001.” Day of the week at 9 o’clock, Big Date display at the upper left. Automatic winding. Stainless steel case x calfskin strap. ¥1,407,000. Expected to arrive this autumn.

Thanks to the "peripheral rotor" that rotates around the periphery, this system allows the beauty of the movement to be fully appreciated despite being automatic. Consequently, no effort has been spared in the movement's finishing. The movement, meticulously adorned with hairline, sandblasted, and diamond-cut finishes, truly achieves a level of aesthetic excellence. It is a movement conceived for those who seek beauty not only in practicality but also in the intricate details of a wristwatch.

Coincidentally, this year's Baselworld saw the unveiling of a model equipped with the “CFB A1001,” based on the “CFB A1000.” With models expected to arrive in Japan this autumn, why not take the opportunity to experience this world-renowned movement firsthand?
