Casio is offering a limited-time restoration service until January 18, 2022, which includes replacing the bezel, band, and battery for eight popular models released between 1983 and 1994, such as the "DW-5000C" and "DW-5600C." This is a welcome fan service, bringing beloved G-SHOCK watches back to life for their owners.

To meet the desires of users who wish to wear their cherished, long-loved G-SHOCK watches again or have them restored to pristine condition, Casio is implementing a restoration service for eight models. These include the first-generation "DW-5000C," for which maintenance support has ended, and the "DW-5600C," the first in the long-selling 5600 series that inherited its design.

Applications are accepted via the dedicated website (https://gshock.casio.com/jp/restore/). The period runs until January 18, 2022.

The products eligible for this service are eight models: "DW-5000C" (1983), "WW-5100C" (1983), "DW-5200C" (1984), "WW-5300C" (1984), "DW-5600C" (1987), "DW-5800C" (1987), "DW-1983" (1993), and "SWC-05" (1994).

The service includes the replacement of the bezel, band, and battery (limited to bezels with black resin and gray color filling, and models with a Phillips head screw for bezel fixation; waterproof testing after battery replacement is for daily use only). The fee is ¥10,560 (tax included).

To allow users to enjoy displaying their cherished watches, a special package for the restoration service will also be provided, which can be used as a stand. The watch stand features a message and signature from Kikuo Ibe, the developer of the first G-SHOCK model, expressing gratitude to long-term users.
