Hand-finished by Artisans, One by One

MR-G is the series within G-SHOCK that fuses Japan's spirit of craftsmanship with innovative technology. It is characterized by its meticulously detailed finish, achieved without compromising shock resistance.
The new MRG-B5000HT inherits the iconic square form of the first G-SHOCK, born in 1983, while the bezel and band are treated with the traditional Tsuiki technique, exuding a presence that combines both robustness and elegance.
Tsuiki is a traditional technique where a metal sheet is hammered to create raised patterns. For this model, Kazuya Watanabe, a Tsuiki artisan from Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, hand-finishes each piece.
The material used is 'DAT55G,' a Japanese titanium alloy boasting approximately three times the hardness of pure titanium. Through delicate and precise hammering, different expressions are born depending on the shape of the chisel and the force applied. This unique character, with no two models exactly alike, is a major appeal of this watch.
The exterior finishing also shines with attention to detail. The case features a unique luster achieved through DLC treatment, inspired by 'Oborogin,' a silvery-gray material used in fittings for Japanese swords. Furthermore, copper-colored accents on the screws and buttons add vibrancy and depth to the rich, subdued tones.
The finish, a fusion of traditional Japanese materials and modern processing techniques, truly symbolizes the harmony of tradition and innovation.
Inheriting the G-SHOCK spirit of a robust, shock-resistant structure while adorned with a special design imbued with artisan skill, this model is a fitting addition to the MR-G series.
