The Planet Ocean Returns with Cutting-Edge Technology; Two New Seamaster Models Launched

OMEGA has begun sales of its new "Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph," "Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph," and "Seamaster Planet Ocean," announced in May 2019.

The Robust Diver 300M and the Iconic Planet Ocean

Announced in May 2019 and equipped with the latest materials and technology, the "Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph," "Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph," and "Seamaster Planet Ocean" have finally gone on sale.

The 44mm "Seamaster Diver 300M Chronograph" is available with a case in stainless steel, 18K yellow gold & stainless steel, or 18K Sedna gold & stainless steel. Its dial is distinguished by the iconic wave pattern of the Diver 300M, laser-engraved.

A small seconds subdial is positioned at 9 o'clock, a 12-hour and 60-minute coaxial chronograph counter at 3 o'clock, and a date window at 6 o'clock. The unidirectional rotating bezel is fitted with a ceramic bezel ring, on which the diving scale is marked in white enamel for the stainless steel model, and with OMEGA's Ceragold technology for the stainless steel & gold models. Also noteworthy are the blue or black ceramic pushers, matched to the color of the bezel ring, which add a lustrous sheen to the robust design.

The Planet Ocean, meanwhile, revives the vibrant orange that graced the original 2005 model, now recreated with an orange ceramic bezel ring. While producing red tones in ceramic is said to be extremely difficult, OMEGA has finally achieved it and is currently filing a patent for the technology.

The 43.5mm three-hand model features a polished white ceramic dial that creates a beautiful contrast with the bezel and the Arabic numerals of the indices. The chronograph model, housed in a slightly larger 45.5mm case, utilizes a Grade 5 titanium dial whose surface has been treated to create a hardened coating, resulting in a sophisticated deep grey dial color.
