A Return to Traditional Watchmaking

As if challenging the question of how much can be expressed within a mere 40-millimeter space, CAMPANOLA is meticulously crafted, making masterful use of its three-dimensional dial.

The design theme is “the beauty of empty space.” To achieve this, meticulous attention must be paid not only to the three-dimensional dial but also to the details of the case, hands, and crystal. As each element is carefully crafted, the space within the crystal becomes more vibrant, and as the hands begin to move to mark the time, a captivating expression emerges.

Since its debut in 2000, CAMPANOLA has leveraged cutting-edge technology to allow wearers to “savor” time, the everyday, and their individuality. To be original, it has incorporated the latest technologies. The movements are, of course, quartz, and also feature Eco-Drive. It has served as a showcase for CAMPANOLA's advanced capabilities.

And then, in 2014, CAMPANOLA reappeared with a slightly different character.



While maintaining the design theme of “the beauty of empty space” and inheriting the three-dimensional dial design that utilizes space, the aesthetic has shifted towards greater practicality. Compared to previous models, it is finished with a simpler, more refined appearance.

Furthermore, in step with this shift, the movement has been changed to an automatic winding mechanism, an endeavor to return to traditional watchmaking.

The chosen movement is from La Joux-Perret, a supplier based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, which became part of Citizen Watch in 2012. This esteemed company has a reputation for developing and manufacturing movements, including chronographs, and has supplied products to many brands. It is an ideal choice for CAMPANOLA's new endeavor to “return to traditional watchmaking.”

The new CAMPANOLA is an ambitious creation that approaches the concept of “savoring time” from a completely opposite perspective. By changing its approach, it has expanded the range of choices, marking a milestone for the CAMPANOLA series and serving as its first mechanical model, poised to become a historically significant timepiece.
