World's Thinnest Satellite-Wave Watch Launches This Autumn

Citizen introduces a new satellite-wave watch capable of receiving accurate time signals from anywhere in the world. Three models of the "Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100," the world's thinnest satellite-wave watch, will be released on October 10 (Friday), while three models of the "Citizen Attesa" equipped with satellite-wave reception functionality will be available from September 3 (Wednesday).

The Flagship Model: "Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100"

In 2011, Citizen unveiled the "Eco-Drive Satellite Wave," the world's first satellite-wave watch that receives time information from satellites to display precise time. Now, in 2014, comes the "Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100," the thinnest satellite-wave watch, featuring reduced reception time and compatibility with all 40 global time zones.

The concept behind the "Eco-Drive Satellite Wave F100" is speed. A new movement has been developed to receive satellite signals in as little as 3 seconds from virtually anywhere on Earth with a clear view of the sky, and it also incorporates a high-speed motor. In line with this concept, the design emphasizes sharpness and lightness, with a titanium case achieving a world-record thinness of 12.5mm for a satellite-wave watch.

The dial design, inspired by solar panels, evokes the power generation systems of artificial satellites. The push buttons at 2 and 4 o'clock feature a hollowed-out design, reminiscent of satellite frames, adding a distinctive accent. Furthermore, the "Light Level Indicator," a world-first function unique to the light-powered Eco-Drive, displays the power generation level in seven stages based on the light hitting the dial, allowing users to instantly gauge the charging status at their location. The watch's inherent accuracy has also been dramatically improved, from the previous ±15 seconds per month to ±5 seconds.

The "Citizen Attesa" Series Now Features Satellite-Wave Reception

Meanwhile, the "Citizen Attesa" series also launches three models that, for the first time in the series, incorporate satellite-wave reception functionality. These watches embody the robust yet stylish, sharp design that supports globally active business professionals. The case, with its radiating lines, expresses the synergy of Eco-Drive, which converts light into energy, and "Satellite Wave," which reliably and speedily captures time signals from deep space.
