Reflecting the Pure Passion for the Sea That is the Brand's Origin
Officine Panerai has a deep historical connection with the sea. Its roots trace back to the early 1900s when it served as a supplier to the Italian Navy, manufacturing advanced measuring and precision instruments. Even today, the brand's commitment to the ocean remains strong, with a decade-long dedication to promoting classic yacht culture through its sponsorship of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge.
Furthermore, the brand is passionately involved in preserving and promoting maritime culture, exemplified by the restoration of the 1936 Fife-built Bermuda ketch, "Aline," originally from Fairlie, Scotland. Over 40,000 hours were dedicated to making her seaworthy once again.
This exhibition features works by marine photographer Yoichi Yabe, who has accompanied the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge since 2007. The photographs capture the beauty of classic yachts, the passion of yachtsmen, the craftsmanship of shipbuilders, and the magnificent vistas of nature. These images reflect Panerai's passion and respect for the traditional craftsmanship embodied in classic yachts. The brand's 2014 new models, showcasing its passion, design, and technical prowess, will also be on display.
