BLANCPAIN | Lamborghini and Blancpain Resonate
BLANCPAIN
Blancpain Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
An Interview with Alain Delamuraz
In Pursuit of Enduring Emotion
Founded in Switzerland in 1735 and known as the world's oldest watchmaking brand, "Blancpain" and the Italian supercar manufacturer "Lamborghini." These two distinct brands first met five years ago, in 2009. While collaborations between different industries like "watches" and "cars" are not uncommon today, Blancpain has a unique and intriguing principle: the absence of the "Lamborghini" name anywhere on its watches. Why is that? The answer reveals Blancpain's vision for the future.

The Significance of Two Brands with Shared Ideals Joining Forces
"The partnership between Blancpain and Lamborghini is not about creating products with logos. It's something much deeper, born from mutual respect."
Lamborghini and Blancpain. This collaboration between two brands, at the pinnacle of the automotive and watchmaking worlds, now in its sixth year, how did it come about and what was the thinking behind it? What commonalities exist between the two companies? We asked Blancpain's Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Alain Delamuraz.
"We declare that we only create high-end mechanical watches, and Lamborghini only creates the finest sports cars. Fundamentally, there's a shared allure between mechanical movements and the mechanical aspects of cars."
However, beyond that, Lamborghini and Blancpain share many elements that can be described as part of their very DNA. Neither company is particularly large within its industry. And while the size of their products differs significantly, both fundamentally practice in-house manufacture, meaning they produce their products through integrated in-house processes. They also share a commonality in actively investing in research and development.
And above all, what they share is a fundamental approach to craftsmanship: the pursuit of emotion in their product creation. Both we at Blancpain and Lamborghini approach product creation with passion and emotion, coupled with a solid, long-term vision for the future. We believed it made sense for us, with our shared philosophy, to collaborate on something together."

No Lamborghini Logo Anywhere
This partnership's origins trace back five years, to 2009. It began when Lamborghini sought a partner from the watch industry for their one-make racing series, the "Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo," using the "Lamborghini Gallardo."
"The desire to do something different. The pursuit of essential quality in our products, albeit in different genres. And ultimately, Lamborghini's possession of a firm, long-term vision. These were the deciding factors for our partnership."
This led to the creation of a series of models in the "L-Evolution" collection. These racing-inspired timepieces, blending sporty and dynamic design with innovative movements, exude the most avant-garde and racing-oriented aura within Blancpain's lineup. What is most intriguing about this collection is the complete absence of the "Lamborghini" logo. While this might seem surprising, Delamuraz considers it a matter of course.
"Our partnership is not about creating watches or cars adorned with logos. It is a comprehensive partnership between two brands that have reached the pinnacle in their respective fields."
Delamuraz states that the "L-Evolution" is merely one symbol of this partnership. It will be fascinating to see, over the long term, what new horizons these two companies will unveil through this profound collaboration.
