Welcoming Visitors with a Warm Atmosphere Inspired by "Earth"

This autumn, the new international terminal and runway at Haneda Airport will commence operations, expanding international routes to Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia. Haneda Airport will thus become a "hub airport" serving both domestic and international flights. On October 21, the new international passenger terminal opens, and to coincide with this, OMEGA will unveil its new boutique, OMEGA BOUTIQUE HANEDA.

The boutique embodies a global aesthetic consistent with OMEGA boutiques worldwide. Its interior design, themed around "Earth," features elegant champagne gold walls, artistic showcases representing geological strata with glass, and partitions inspired by rain falling on the land, creating a warm and luxurious ambiance to welcome visitors. The product selection will mirror that of other boutiques, offering the latest watch releases as well as a rich collection of accessories and leather goods.

BRAND HISTORY
A brand with a reputation rivaling the top one or two in the Swiss watchmaking industry. Its roots trace back to a small workshop opened in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1848 by watchmaker Louis Brandt.

Initially, the workshop specialized in assembly. However, as time passed, it pioneered sales strategies targeting all of Europe and America, outpacing competitors. The company steadily grew, and in 1877, it was renamed "Louis Brandt & Fils."

In the 1880s, the company relocated its headquarters to Bienne, where it remains today, establishing a manufacture factory capable of producing watches entirely in-house. The "Labrador" movement, renowned for its precision at the highest standards of the 1880s, was also born in this factory.

Later, during the era of "Louis Brandt et Frère," renamed in 1890, the development of the "Caliber 19" (commonly known as the Omega Caliber) led to the adoption of "Ω = Omega," the Greek letter representing the ultimate, as the company name in the early 20th century.

OMEGA has been active globally since its first official timekeeping at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, continuing to time major sporting events worldwide. In the realm of wristwatches, the "Speedmaster" was selected as official NASA equipment in 1965 after enduring rigorous testing, and in 1970, the "Seamaster" was used in the "Janus" deep-sea exploration project for experiments at a depth of 250 meters, marking numerous achievements.

Having steadily gained a loyal following, OMEGA has not rested on its laurels but continues to pursue the perfection of its own products.

In 1999, the company succeeded in mass-producing the Co-Axial escapement, invented by watchmaker George Daniels, once again proving OMEGA's advanced technical capabilities to the watchmaking world. Since the 21st century, the Co-Axial escapement has been incorporated into a succession of new models. Furthermore, in 2007, OMEGA unveiled its first in-house movement in 30 years, demonstrating an unceasing drive for development.
