A Partnership Model with the Environmental Organization GoodPlanet Foundation

The "GoodPlanet Foundation" was established by the world-renowned filmmaker and environmental activist Yann Arthus-Bertrand. OMEGA has been supporting this foundation since 2011. To commemorate this partnership, the new watch, "Seamaster Planet Ocean “GoodPlanet”," has now been created.

This watch is a GMT (Coordinated Universal Time) equipped model within the popular "Seamaster Planet Ocean" series. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to projects aimed at protecting mangroves and seagrass in Southeast Asia, and will also fund environmental education for local residents. It is, quite literally, a wearable tribute that honors the importance and sincere efforts of the GoodPlanet Foundation in advocating for global environmental conservation.

A Talk Show Featuring Photographer Naoki Ishikawa Was Also Held

In a venue reminiscent of the ocean depths, director Bertrand spoke about his film "Planet Ocean," stating, "I wanted to show the importance and diversity of the sea, the threats it currently faces, and the solutions we can propose." He conveyed the significance of environmental protection to the attendees.

Meanwhile, on a special stage, photographer Naoki Ishikawa, who served as the film's narrator in Japanese,Naoki Ishikawaand theoretical astronomer Eiichiro Kokubo held a talk show. They shared unique anecdotes and personal theories about the deep connection between human activities and nature. Performances by Erhu and a DJ, along with a rare blue sparkling wine, delighted the 180 guests in attendance.
