Featuring a New Caliber That Appears to Float
Founded in Lucerne, Switzerland, in 1888, CARL F. BUCHERER is a venerable maison with 130 years of history. It has now launched its new "Heritage" collection, beginning with the anniversary limited edition "Heritage Tourbillon Double Peripheral."
The 18K rose gold case evokes the golden glow of Lucerne, the hometown of CARL F. BUCHERER, steeped in Baroque style. A bridge crafted from 18K white gold, engraved with the city of Lucerne, serves as a symbolic tribute to the city.
At the heart of the intricate engraving, which requires over two weeks of handwork, is the Chapel Bridge, a landmark of Lucerne. The swan floating on the lake symbolizes Schwanenplatz, where the maison opened its first watch shop and where its store is still located today. Each of the 88 watches features a swan depicted in a different position, making each timepiece unique in the world.

The dial design, with its circular zones featuring a rotational pattern, distinctive rhombus-shaped indices, and radiating decorative finishing, along with the case form, draws inspiration from historical models produced in the 1960s, serving as a symbol connecting past and present.
The movement is the in-house caliber CFB T3000, first introduced at Baselworld this year. It supports both the tourbillon and the automatic winding mechanism at the periphery, creating a style where the movement appears to float in mid-air. Furthermore, new methods have been introduced, such as the use of anti-magnetic silicon for the pallet fork and escape wheel in the escapement.
