A Smartwatch Collaboration Between Sony and SEIKO
Sony has announced two new models in its hybrid smartwatch "wena™ wrist" series: the "SEIKO wena wrist pro Mechanical head" and the "SEIKO wena wrist active Digital Solar head," a collaboration with Seiko.

The Hybrid Smartwatch "wena™ wrist" with Unique Features
Sony's hybrid smartwatch "wena™ wrist" is a series that first incorporated smartwatch functions into a watch band anywhere in the world (*). Now, two collaboration models between "wena™ wrist" and the Seiko brand, boasting over 130 years of history, have been announced: the "SEIKO wena wrist active Digital Solar head" and the "SEIKO wena wrist pro Mechanical head."
The "SEIKO wena wrist pro Mechanical head," based on a mechanical watch designed for executives, is an original wena model inspired by the popular Japanese domestic dive watch, "Seiko Divers."
The bezel has been adapted for town use, creating a unique model that fuses the heritage design of Seiko Divers with Sony's cutting-edge technology.
The band incorporates functions for electronic payments, notifications, and activity logging. The see-through case back of the head features the inscription "LIMITED EDITION," and it is available in a limited quantity of 700 silver and 300 premium black units, with reservations starting in September 2018 (released November 27).
The "SEIKO wena wrist active Digital Solar head," an adventurous outdoor smartwatch equipped with Seiko's digital solar head for mountaineering, can manage climbing records in conjunction with a smartphone.
Furthermore, the head contains Seiko's proprietary "climbing speed display" function, which utilizes the "FIELDSENSOR®" with its integrated barometric pressure, temperature, and compass sensors to aid in pace management during ascents.
The model comes in two variations: blue black and blue. The blue black model features blue accents on the bezel text and buttons, offering a subtle sporty touch. The blue model, with a more distinct blue bezel, presents a more active impression.
This model also features electronic payment, notification, and activity logging functions in the band. Both are currently available in limited quantities of 500 units each at Sony Stores and Sony's e-commerce site, First Flight, since September 2018.
