The First Omega Wrist-Chronograph Limited Edition, featuring movements meticulously restored from rare timepieces housed in the OMEGA Museum, has been released in a worldwide limited edition of just 18 pieces.

OMEGA: Reviving a 106-year-old original movement for the future

On Monday, July 2, 2018, OMEGA unveiled the "First Omega Wrist-Chronograph Limited Edition" at a "Museum Night" event held in Biel, Switzerland.

The movement chosen for this watch is the 18-line chronograph caliber that powered the world's first chronograph wristwatch manufactured by OMEGA in 1913. Artisans at OMEGA's Atelier Tourbillon meticulously restored each original caliber, taken from rare timepieces in the OMEGA Museum's collection, thereby reviving past technology for the present day.

The design follows the original style of the 1913 OMEGA Wrist-Chronograph. Classic details include a riveted leather strap, a white enamel dial, blue "Empire" hands, and Arabic numeral hour markers. Its dial design, which offered excellent legibility at the time of its manufacture, and the 15-minute counter were particularly favored by military personnel, especially pilots.

The classic design extends to the hinged case back. Opening the case back reveals the restored movement through a sapphire crystal.

Meanwhile, the case is crafted from contemporary materials such as 18K Sedna gold—an alloy of gold, copper, and palladium—and 18K white gold.

The "First Omega Wrist-Chronograph Limited Edition" comes in a special handmade leather trunk-style box, with

two interchangeable leather straps in Novonappa gold and burgundy, a strap-changing tool, a loupe, and a travel pouch, and is released in a worldwide limited edition of 18 pieces.
