Seiko's luxury watch brand, Seiko Galante, is releasing its first-ever diver's watch.

A Diver's Watch Powered by Spring Drive
From Seiko Galante, a luxury brand for owners with a playful spirit and a discerning eye for authenticity, comes the brand's first diver's watch.
Its defining characteristic is a glamorous and sensual design. In addition to its unique case shape, DLC coating applied to the bezel, case, and case back enhances both its visual appeal and specifications, embodying the world of luxury sports. DLC, an abbreviation for Diamond-Like Carbon, is a technology that forms a hard film on the material's surface by creating an ionized carbon structure similar to diamond. This not only increases the watch's scratch resistance but also imparts a sensual atmosphere.
The case back is engraved with the "Kraken," a legendary sea monster. The underside of the strap features a suction cup design, symbolizing strength and a rebellious spirit that fears no oceanic threat.
The movement is the "Spring Drive," born in 2005. Like a mechanical watch, it is powered solely by a mainspring, yet it achieves high precision by using a quartz crystal and an integrated circuit to regulate the movement of the hands – a unique Seiko mechanism.
Compared to the balance wheel and escapement of a mechanical watch, it is more resistant to shock. Even when compared to a quartz watch, it does not rely on a battery, meaning it will not stop due to unexpected battery depletion, even in the extreme cold of the deep sea. Spring Drive is the ideal movement for a diver's watch used in harsh environments.
