A New Vintage with Triple Calendar Functionality

VACHERON CONSTANTIN has unveiled the "Historiques Triple Calendar 1942," a new timepiece in its "Historiques" collection featuring day, date, and moon phase indicators. This stylish, daily complication from the 1940s is reborn for the modern era.

Capturing the Dignified Presence of Vintage Design

The "Historiques Triple Calendar 1942" is a revival inspired by Vacheron Constantin's 1942 "Reference 4240." This model focuses on the established technology of practical complications and the distinctive design of its calendar displays.

While a faithful reinterpretation of the original, the new model incorporates contemporary refinements. The triple calendar timepiece features a 40mm case with 30-meter water resistance, and the movement is now visible through the case back.

Naturally, signature Vacheron Constantin details from the 1940s are present throughout. The case is adorned with "claw"-shaped lugs, reminiscent of the original, and retains its distinctive "triple Godron" case form.

The "Historiques Triple Calendar 1942" displays hours and minutes via central hands, with a small seconds subdial at 6 o'clock. A red-tipped hand indicates the date, while the day and month appear in small apertures. As on the original, the calendar displays are presented in either Bordeaux or dark blue against a two-tone silver-finished dial.

The design enhances an elegance that embraces a certain snobbery, allowing its atmosphere to shine through and recreating the stylish beauty of the daily complication models that debuted in the 1940s.
