A Symbol of Commitment to Children
Now in its seventh year, the conflict in Syria has become the world's largest humanitarian and refugee crisis since World War II. Approximately 6 million children within Syria require assistance, and over 2.5 million have been displaced abroad.
Louis Vuitton has stepped up to support these children in need through UNICEF. Inspired by the tumbler lock invented by Georges Vuitton in 1890 to protect his clients' belongings, the "Silver Lockit" series was created with the intention of "protecting" children needing help. To date, it has helped raise over $2.5 million.
The newly released color-coded bracelets come in five shades: yellow, purple, pink, blue, and black. For each item sold, $100 is donated to UNICEF, contributing to the provision of safe water, sanitation services, medical care, and food. In the coming seasons, these funds will also support the distribution of clothing and blankets, aiding children who are arguably the most affected by the Syrian conflict.
