Swiss watchmaker Carl F. Bucherer has unveiled the "Patravi ScubaTec Manta Trust," a limited-edition diver's watch designed to support the global conservation efforts of the non-profit organization "Manta Trust." Only 188 pieces will be sold worldwide, with a portion of the proceeds contributing to manta ray research and conservation.

The Chance to Name a Manta Ray!

Manta rays are critically endangered due to overfishing. To protect these magnificent creatures, Carl F. Bucherer has created the "Patravi ScubaTec Manta Trust," a limited edition of just 188 diver's watches worldwide.

Founded in 2011 by marine biologist Guy Stevens, the "Manta Trust" is based in the UK and operates in 20 countries, employing various approaches to conserve manta ray populations and their habitats. Carl F. Bucherer, inspired by their work, has formed a partnership with the "Manta Trust."

The "Patravi ScubaTec Manta Trust" features a dial depicting two manta rays emerging from sun-dappled waters. Each watch is uniquely identified by an engraved ID number on the case back, corresponding to the distinct ventral patterns of individual manta rays registered with the "Manta Trust." Owners also receive the privilege of naming a manta ray via a dedicated website using their watch's ID number.

The movement is an automatic chronometer, equipped with an automatic helium escape valve, allowing for dives up to 500 meters and ensuring clear time legibility underwater.

Furthermore, in August of this year, the Manta Trust is scheduled to conduct its first-ever manta ray ecological research expedition off the coast of the Maldives, supported in part by proceeds from the "Patravi ScubaTec Manta Trust" and funding from Carl F. Bucherer.

Beyond its exclusivity as a unique piece, the "Patravi ScubaTec Manta Trust" offers the opportunity to contribute to manta ray conservation. It is a valuable diver's watch that raises awareness for these remarkable creatures.
