The commemorative mechanical wristwatch, "Citizen Tourbillon Y01"

Released as a limited edition model commemorating the 300th anniversary of Daimaru's founding

Citizen's first-ever tourbillon movement was newly produced based on the tourbillon movement completed in 2014. In other words, this model is entirely developed and manufactured in-house.

Due to its meticulous design, the manufacturing process demanded exceptional polishing skills to enhance component strength. A dedicated jig was created for the painstaking polishing of each part, allowing the movement to be crafted through methods only a manufacture can achieve.

The tourbillon is an elaborate mechanism designed to reduce accuracy deviations caused by changes in the watch's orientation. It was incorporated with the desire to allow wearers to "better enjoy the exquisite and delicate finishing and the passage of time."

the passage of time.

The tourbillon carriage utilizes a titanium alloy for weight reduction. The watch boasts a power reserve of approximately 100 hours, designed not merely for extended operation but to maintain accuracy throughout the day.

Design Theme: "Comfort"

"Comfort" is a word that transcends "hospitality," and careful consideration was given to the form and material selection to express the essence of TOKYO through Japanese aesthetics. The dial, hands, case lines, edges of the crown, and tourbillon are harmonized with monochrome contrast, embodying the expression of the modern metropolis, TOKYO. Furthermore, the Côtes de Genève pattern, visible through the see-through case back, represents "welcome rain" falling on trees, evoking a waterside scene reminiscent of ukiyo-e prints.
