To open the event, Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, Switzerland, offered the following greeting.

"The Speedmaster is a watch with deep meaning, not only for OMEGA, but for the many men and women who have worn it and placed their trust in it. Even 60 years after its birth, the power and charisma of the Speedmaster remain undiminished."

The most famous episode involving the Speedmaster is the first human moon landing during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. At the moment when Commander Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon, the Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the lunar surface.

Forty-eight years after that moon landing, Buzz Aldrin made a dashing appearance at this event in his spacesuit. Amidst thunderous applause, he shared his experiences in space.

Buzz Aldrin, one of the first humans to walk on the moon during the Apollo program, appeared in his spacesuit.

"I felt no fear. Rather, I was proud to be able to undertake such a meaningful mission, equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge as a representative of humanity. I felt it was not a job for myself alone."

Actor George Clooney is an ardent fan of the Speedmaster and has also been a fan of astronauts since childhood. The Apollo missions remain cherished memories for him.

"The Speedmaster was taken on the moon landing, and my uncle and father both owned Speedmasters. The first moon landing was an unforgettable event for everyone. My father gave me a Speedmaster as a graduation gift. The Speedmaster's appeal is endless, but I am most drawn to its history."

George Clooney also offered special praise to Buzz Aldrin.

"What you accomplished was a very important event with meaning for all of us. I cannot thank you enough for your courage, leadership, and all your actions."

The Speedmaster has been an indispensable tool for astronauts in space for over 50 years.

It became the official watch for all manned space missions after passing NASA's tests in 1965. James Ragan, a former NASA engineer, was in charge of this entire process.

He spoke about the Speedmaster's reputation at NASA as follows:

"Of all the watches we tested in 1965, the Speedmaster was the only one to pass all tests, while the others failed in the first stage. Because of this, the Speedmaster had a high reputation within NASA. The fact that it is still used in space today is the best testament to its capabilities."

Actor Shohei Miura attended the event from Japan. Wearing the Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon "Meteorite," he graced the red carpet alongside global VIPs. To commemorate the party, ten astronauts were released into London, and installations were set up at iconic London landmarks such as St. Paul's Cathedral, generating significant buzz locally.
