Achieving an 80-Hour Power Reserve
MIDO is a brand founded in Switzerland in 1918 by George G. Schalen, and it is currently part of the Swatch Group. The brand name "Mido" is derived from the Spanish phrase "Yo mido," meaning "I measure."
The Mido Baroncelli Series draws inspiration from the sophisticated curves of the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy.
The "Baroncelli Caliber 80 Chronometer SI," released this time, commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Baroncelli Series. It is the first chronometer model to utilize the Caliber 80 movement with a silicon balance spring.
It employs a silicon balance spring, which offers higher precision than conventional balance springs essential for mechanical watches, along with enhanced magnetic resistance and shock resistance, while simultaneously achieving an 80-hour power reserve.
Beyond its technical aspects, its simple and harmonious appearance is also captivating. It is a fitting model for the Baroncelli Series as it reaches its anniversary year.
