The Concept: "Discovery"
Founded in 1845, A. Lange & Söhne is a watch manufacturer whose timepieces, crafted in its German manufactory in Saxony, feature meticulously decorated, in-house developed movements that captivate watch enthusiasts worldwide.
A. Lange & Söhne Tokyo, the sole A. Lange & Söhne boutique in Japan, originally opened on Namiki-dori in Ginza, Tokyo, in 2008. It has now been renovated and reopened as "A. Lange & Söhne Ginza" along the same street.
"A. Lange & Söhne Ginza" embraces the concept of "discovery," creating a spacious and inviting environment. With a total floor area of approximately 100 square meters, it is about 1.3 times larger than the previous location. The interior details offer a glimpse into the philosophy behind A. Lange & Söhne's watchmaking. Clients who purchase a watch are offered matcha served in original tea bowls, providing a level of meticulous hospitality unique to a brand boutique.
New Variations Added to the Saxonia Automatic
To mark the boutique's renovation, two new variations in a Terra-Braun color have been added to the Saxonia Automatic line. This is the first time a brown hue has been used for the dial in the Saxonia series. The watches are available in pink gold and white gold cases. Both models feature a 38.5mm case diameter, paired with hand-stitched alligator straps in reddish-brown and dark brown, creating a subtly elegant color palette. The hands and hour markers are crafted from solid gold matching the case material.
Within the case, the Lange Calibre L086.1 automatic movement, 3.7 mm thick, provides a power reserve of up to 72 hours. The ball-bearing-mounted center rotor with a platinum oscillating weight is also a noteworthy component.
Naturally, like all A. Lange & Söhne models, the Saxonia Automatic undergoes a double assembly process. The movement is assembled, disassembled, and then each component is meticulously hand-finished and decorated before being reassembled. This process ensures both high precision and aesthetic beauty.
