The ISSEY MIYAKE Watch Project Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Naoto Fukasawa Designs the New "GO" Series

Under the overall direction of ISSEY MIYAKE, the "ISSEY MIYAKE Watch Project" has developed unique timepieces through collaborations between SII and leading designers in the design world, such as Shigeo Mashiro, Harri Koskinen, Tokujin Yoshioka, Ross Lovegrove, and Yves Béhar. This year, marking its 10th anniversary, following the special "O" model designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, the new "GO" series designed by Naoto Fukasawa will be released in mid-September.

"GO": Designed with the Tactile Sensation of Go Stones in Mind

The cushion-shaped case of the "GO" features a smooth, continuous curve from the inorganic glass covering the dial to the stainless steel case and the case back when viewed from the side. The gentle tactile sensation felt when holding a go stone between the fingers is expressed through the watch's case and glass. The meticulously calculated design, down to the finest details of the dial and band, pursues both a comfortable fit and excellent legibility, alongside a refined form.

The crystal covering the dial is made of inorganic glass, which is highly resistant to scratches. The smooth, curved surface, seamlessly connected to the stainless steel case, evokes the texture of go stones, while the refractive effect of the curved glass lends a soft expression to the dial.

The dial, with its refined and unadorned appearance, and the streamlined hands, effectively express the design concept of "GO" while ensuring a legible and highly practical dial design.

Furthermore, the stainless steel metal band, with its rounded edges on the top and bottom of each link and a simple connecting structure, ensures a comfortable fit, similar to the case (SILAX001, SILAX002).
