Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spider Zagato Takes Best of Show


The world's most renowned historic car concours, Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, was held at the end of May by Lake Como in Italy. Mr. David Sidwick, who exhibited an Alfa Romeo "8C 2300 Spider Zagato," was selected for the "Best of Show" award, and received a unique timepiece crafted for the winner by A. Lange & Söhne, the event's supporter.

A One-of-a-Kind Lange 1 Time Zone "Como Edition"


Established in 1929, the competition focuses on design and elegance.Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.

Held in the gardens of Villa d'Este, a hotel overlooking the lake and meaning "residence of the Este family," this historic car concours, one of the world's finest, once again showcased a stunning lineup of meticulously maintained classic cars. Amidst the glamorous atmosphere, numerous celebrities from around the globe were in attendance.

This marks A. Lange & Söhne's fourth year supporting the Concorso d'Eleganza. The Lange 1 Time Zone "Como Edition" presented to American collector Mr. Sidwick features a hand-engraved Concorso d'Eleganza crest on its 18K white gold case back, and the city of Como, representing the Central European Time zone, is engraved on the dial's time zone indicator.

The award ceremony took place during the gala dinner at Villa d'Este. Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, who presented the Lange 1 Time Zone "Como Edition" to Mr. and Mrs. Sidwick, quoted Chagall, stating, "A true collector is not merely an owner, but someone who knows the joy of acquisition." He spoke about "the wonder of acquiring the finest pieces, guided by knowledge, curiosity, and a certain intuition."
