Wallpaper Displays Movement

When considering a new watch, many people search for information online. However, when inspiration strikes on the go, a computer is often not readily available. To address this, OMEGA has recently launched an application for iPhone that is perfect for such moments.

OMEGA's new application features a system for displaying its entire collection. Users can instantly access images and technical data for the watch they desire, as well as any other models that catch their eye. The app also includes a "Watch Finder" to search for watches with specific features and a "Boutique Finder" to locate the nearest store, making it an indispensable tool for watch enthusiasts.

Furthermore, a highly coveted feature for enthusiasts is the wallpaper displaying the "OMEGA De Ville Hour Vision" with its time and date. Tapping the dial reveals the watch's movement, showcasing the "Co-Axial Calibre 8611" automatic mechanism in action. This offers a unique perspective distinct from the actual watch, a delightful aspect of the iPhone application. In addition to popular timepieces, users can also obtain wallpapers of esteemed OMEGA ambassadors, including George Clooney, Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, Zhang Ziyi, and Michael Phelps, adding another layer of appeal.

This is truly an application that allows you to "enjoy the world of OMEGA with a single touch." It's an experience best approached with a sense of playfulness.

BRAND HISTORY
A brand renowned as one of the top two most recognized names in the Swiss watchmaking industry. Its roots trace back to a small workshop opened in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in 1848 by watchmaker Louis Brandt.

Initially specializing in assembly, the workshop soon pioneered sales strategies targeting all of Europe and America. This led to steady growth, and in 1877, it was renamed "Louis Brandt & Fils."

In the 1880s, the company relocated its headquarters to Bienne, where it remains today, establishing a manufacture factory for complete in-house watch production. The "Labrador" movement, boasting the highest precision standards of the era, was born in this factory.

Later, during the era of "Louis Brandt & Frère" in 1890, the development of the "Calibre 19 (commonly known as the Omega Calibre)" led to the adoption of "Ω=Omega," the Greek letter representing the ultimate, as the company's name in the early 20th century.

Since its first official timekeeping role at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, OMEGA has been a global presence, serving as the official timekeeper for numerous international sporting events. In the realm of wristwatches, the "Speedmaster" was selected as official NASA equipment in 1965 after enduring rigorous testing, and in 1970, the "Seamaster" was used for deep-sea experiments at a depth of 250 meters during the "Janus Project." These achievements cemented its legacy.

Having steadily increased its devoted clientele, OMEGA has not rested on its laurels but has continued to pursue the perfection of its own products.

In 1999, the company achieved mass production of the Co-Axial Escapement, invented by watchmaker George Daniels, once again proving OMEGA's technological prowess to the watchmaking world. Since the 21st century, the Co-Axial Escapement has been progressively incorporated into new models. Furthermore, in 2007, OMEGA unveiled a new in-house movement after a 30-year hiatus, demonstrating an unceasing drive for innovation.
