A Touch of Brilliance for its 60th Anniversary

The Iconic Bubble Watch Returns!

Corum has consistently unveiled unique timepieces, achieving remarkable success. Its flagship model, the "Admiral's Cup," which features nautical pennants as indices,Admiral's Cupcaptures the world of yachting, while the "Golden Bridge" gained popularity with its distinctive vertical linear movement. The "Coin Watch," crafted from genuine gold and silver coins, is now a Corum exclusive. Yet, many fans may have felt something was missing. That something was the "Bubble," which took the watch world by storm in 2000 with its unique form. This legendary model, with its truly original design featuring a dome-shaped crystal, garnered fervent support and is still sought after by dedicated enthusiasts today. Masterpieces worthy of celebrating the brand's 60th anniversary have been born.

A True Dome: The Bubble Crystal

The "Bubble" is back, reimagined as the "Heritage Bubble" within the current "Heritage" collection. Even those unfamiliar with Corum's history will recognize its distinctive silhouette.

While many watches feature a "domed crystal," it typically refers to a gentle curve. This watch, however, boasts a genuine "dome" atop the timepiece, without exaggeration. Of the watch's 18.8mm thickness, the crystal itself accounts for a substantial 8mm. To shape sapphire crystal, second only to diamond in hardness, into such a beautiful dome requires a skilled artisan to work for hours with a diamond cutter. This can be considered Corum's most valuable new reissued model.

New Creations Adorning its 60th Year (Part 2)

A Dial Expressing a Yacht's Deck

The Admiral's Cup, now a fitting flagship model for Corum, welcomes a special chronograph. Its dial is made of wood. Rather than processing the surface of metal or special materials, the material used is teak, the same wood found on actual yacht decks. The teak surface is finished flat, with lines etched to resemble a deck.

The indices and hands, accented with black Super-LumiNova, along with the sub-dial rims and brand/model logos, are all applied elements, showcasing exquisite detail. The unique color imparts a sense of warmth, creating a captivating contrast with the hard metallic sheen of the case and bezel. As you wear it, the natural aging of the wood will become a source of enjoyment. This is a chronograph designed to be cherished for years to come.

Reborn as an Aesthetic Timepiece Through Meticulous Craftsmanship

Corum has produced numerous unique wristwatches, and the "Coin Watch" pioneered this concept in 1965. It involves splitting a large coin in two, using one half as the dial with a hole for the hand's axis, and the other half hollowed out to house the movement. These two halves are then joined, set within a frame with a crystal and lugs, and fitted with a crown to create a wristwatch.

In 2015, in addition to the standard US $20 gold coin, Corum produced "Coin Watches" using US $50 gold coins, US $1 silver coins, and Indian coins, each in a limited edition of 100 pieces worldwide. The model introduced here uses a US $1 silver coin. This silver coin is nearly pure silver, its brilliance dazzling. Over time, the natural patina of silver will develop a unique, sophisticated character unobtainable elsewhere. The "Coin Watch" offers the profound pleasure of experiencing the beauty of precious metal artifacts that age gracefully.
