New Quartz Technology Featured in New Divers Watch

For its anniversary year, BULOVA has prepared a new quartz technology called "UHF" (Ultra High Frequency). This technology increases the number of quartz crystals, which generate the electronic signals that control the watch's regular movement, from the usual two to three. This results in a vibration frequency eight times higher than normal (262KHz).

Quartz watches typically feature a second-by-second ticking motion, but the movement in this watch offers a sweep second hand that moves in 1/16th increments, similar to a mechanical watch. Simultaneously, the annual deviation is reduced to mere tens of seconds, significantly enhancing the reliability for measuring dive times.

The case is finished with a black PVD coating for a sharp appearance. The black rubber strap provides design unity and is a considerate specification that helps control costs. This substantial, accurate, and fully functional 300m water-resistant diver's chronograph can be acquired for under 100,000 yen.

This is a limited edition of 500 pieces worldwide, celebrating the 140th anniversary of the brand's founding and the debut of the "Sea King" collection in this milestone year. What is surprising about this mechanical diver's watch, equipped with an automatic movement, is its size. The case measures a remarkable 50mm. Despite its large size, the use of robust titanium as the material provides exceptional water resistance, reaching an impressive 100 bar (1000m).

The device attached to the left side is the "Bezel Double Lock" system for securing the bezel. To release it, simply press the upper and lower buttons simultaneously. This unique system has been devised with a special mechanism to prevent accidental operation.

It is also equipped with a helium gas release valve to expel helium gas that may enter the watch during saturation diving performed by professionals. This prevents the watch from rupturing due to gas expansion inside the watch during decompression. It complies with ISO6425, the international standard for diver's watches.

BULOVA is a global sponsor and official timekeeper of the English Premier League football club, Manchester United. The "Treble" collection, produced since 2014, is a result of this partnership.

The name "The Treble" is inspired by the "treble" of winning three major titles. It pays tribute to Manchester United's achievement of winning the Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League in the 1998-99 season. The new model unifies the watch in a monotone color scheme, with the Manchester United crest appearing at the 3 o'clock position on the hairline-finished black dial. The tip of the second hand is accented with the team's signature red, providing a vibrant touch. The black-based face and color scheme create a sharp and active impression.
