Bucherer Blue: Tradition and Innovation (1)
Carl F. Bucherer is known for its dynamic designs and intricate in-house movements. Among the new releases, the "Patravi EvoTec Big Date" is a model that truly deserves attention. With dimensions under 40mm, it's become more compact, and its case and dial, dyed in a refreshing blue, will be available in Japan six months ahead of the rest of the world.

New Models First in Japan, Ahead of the World
Born from a long-established Swiss watch and jewelry retailer,Carl F. Buchereris now a rapidly advancing manufacture brand with its own movements.
The flagship model representing Bucherer is the "Patravi EvoTec," a square-shaped model introduced in 2009. In 2015, its new iteration, the "Patravi EvoTec Big Date," was released. This model was born from the demand for a more compact size from Japan.
Consequently, a先行販売 (pre-sale) decision was made for Japan, six months ahead of global release. This blue color, along with its exquisite size, is expected to be immensely popular.
Furthermore, the "Patravi ScubaTec," featuring a blue accent on its rotating bezel, has also expanded its variations, continuing to enrich the collection with vigor and raising expectations for the future.
Compact Size, Perfect Presence
Bucherer's models have predominantly featured large sizes exceeding 40mm, and the brand's iconic square cushion case model, the "Patravi EvoTec," was no exception.
However, due to requests from the Japanese market for a smaller model, a model under 40mm has finally arrived. This "Patravi EvoTec Big Date" streamlines functions, featuring a big date display with two discs at the 11 o'clock position, to achieve its compact size.
While retaining its impactful design, it adopts dimensions of 38.54mm vertically and 39.25mm horizontally, suited for the Japanese physique. This ensures a natural fit even on relatively slender wrists.
Retaining the in-house movement with the world's first peripheral rotor, announced in 2008, it has become an easily selectable model, especially in terms of its perfect size.
The specification, particularly with the dial, bezel, crown, and strap in blue, is refreshing and casual. It's also a trendy color and is poised to become very popular. In Japan, it has been on sale since April 25th, marking the first release worldwide.

Variations Steadily Expanding
The "Patravi ScubaTec" is Bucherer's first diver's watch, introduced in 2014.
With a water resistance of 500m, it supports saturation diving for professional divers. It features a dedicated helium escape valve for automatic release of helium gas, demonstrating Bucherer's high level of technical expertise.
The brand supports the Manta Trust's activities, which focus on academic research of manta rays, the world's largest rays, and marine life conservation. The case back is engraved with the figures of two manta rays.
Externally, the unidirectional rotating bezel, filled with liquid ceramic, is particularly striking. It is scratch-resistant, making the metal indices stand out, and the bright blue serves as a design accent.
In 2015, variations expanded with the introduction of rose gold cases and white dials. The photo shows a white dial with a stainless steel case. Both offer an elegant appearance and are practical designs for both business and leisure.

Upgraded on the 10th Anniversary of the Model's Debut
The "Patravi TravelTec" is a large travel chronograph with a highly legible GMT function. Introduced in 2005, it celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. To commemorate this, the new "Patravi TravelTec II" has been announced.
Its feature is the ability to display three time zones simultaneously. Local time (first time zone) is shown by the regular time display. Home time (second time zone) is indicated by the 24-hour index on the bezel and the 24-hour hand. A third time zone can be tracked by adjusting the inner 24-hour index on the dial according to the time difference.
The third time zone adjustment is made by pressing the push-button at 10 o'clock, which moves the inner ring of the dial in one-hour increments. It also includes a selector to indicate whether the adjustment is for eastward or westward travel.
Furthermore, with this watch, the date display can be adjusted backward. It is a travel watch that combines high operability with functionality.
