Independent watchmaker F.P. Journe is renowned for his originality and relentless pursuit of innovation. Timepieces bearing his name are produced in extremely limited quantities, around 850 pieces annually, making them sought-after by true connoisseurs. While the brand often draws attention to its movements, this time, the dials have also received careful consideration. In the Octa Luna, the brand returns to the fundamental element of watchmaking—legibility—while thoughtfully refining the design.

A Quest for Enhanced Legibility

The Octa Luna has been reborn. Take a closer look at the 18K gold dial. The off-center subdial is significantly larger than in previous models. Compared to the earlier version, the guilloché engraving in the center of the subdial has been omitted, and the hour markers have been changed from black to gold. The entire dial appears more three-dimensional, with clear attention paid to ensuring the time is easily distinguishable.

Beyond the dial, other elements crucial for legibility have also been enhanced. The moon phase indicator features a more sculpted, three-dimensional design. The hour and minute hands have been changed from the traditional blued steel to gold. This combination of improved legibility and refined design marks the rebirth of a new staple model.
