An Art Watch Embodying Traditional Craftsmanship

Since its founding in 1755, Vacheron Constantin has consistently upheld Geneva's tradition of delicate and elegant watchmaking for over two centuries, continuing this legacy into the 21st century.

The limited collection of art watches, named "Métiers d'Art" (Artistic Crafts), which encapsulates traditional artisanal techniques such as enameling and engraving, is renowned among global watch collectors as a coveted masterpiece.

With its 2014 novelties, the maison has thoroughly explored this world of art watches through "openworked" models – essentially, skeletonized timepieces where the movement itself is artistically decorated with cut-outs and engraving for aesthetic appreciation. Furthermore, they introduced ladies' models in their main collections like "Patrimony" and "Malté," as well as in the "Métiers d'Art" line, employing openworking and gem-setting techniques. This showcased a brilliant expansion of the "beauty of mechanism" within the world of horology.

While models with an openworked balance wheel have become less rare, truly elaborate skeletonized watches are, regrettably, still not widely familiar in Japan. However, by admiring Vacheron Constantin's new skeleton models this year, one can discover a new world of beauty hidden within the precision mechanics of a mechanical watch.

Among these, the "Patrimony Traditionnelle 14-Day Tourbillon Skeleton" stands out for its exceptional completeness in both mechanism and decoration. The profound allure of the maison's celebrated complication movement is further enhanced through its openworked design, creating an artistic masterpiece.
