A Modern, Sharp Impression: The New "Traditionnelle Complete Calendar" in 18K White Gold with a Grey Dial
Vacheron Constantin has unveiled a new model in its "Traditionnelle Complete Calendar" line.
A Unique Layout Gracefully Positions the High-Precision Moon Phase at the Lower Dial
The "Traditionnelle" collection from Vacheron Constantin embodies the heritage of classical watchmaking for the modern era. This series upholds the spirit of haute horlogerie crafted by watchmakers known as "cabinotiers" in Geneva since the 18th century. The new model features a complete calendar complication, also known by the nickname "triple calendar," which displays the day, date, and month. It is further enhanced with a moon phase indicator that shows both the lunar phase and age.
Following the existing 18K pink gold model, the newly released "Traditionnelle Complete Calendar" features a 41mm case crafted from 18K white gold and a straight grey dial with a velvet finish. This new color palette enhances the dial's display, lending the watch a contemporary aesthetic.
Unlike typical triple calendars where the day and month displays are positioned closer to the center of the dial, they are placed separately on the outer periphery. The date is subtly indicated by a central hand with a crescent-shaped tip. This distinctive layout creates ample space to gracefully position the high-precision moon phase at the lower part of the dial.
The movement is composed of 308 parts and is powered by the self-winding Caliber 2460 QCL/1, Vacheron Constantin's first fully in-house designed and developed automatic movement. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, features a stop-seconds function, a 40-hour power reserve, and a precise moon phase complication that requires correction only once every 122 years.
Visible through the case back, the movement showcases a beautifully finished 22K gold rotor adorned with the brand's Maltese cross symbol and openworked design. The plate is decorated with perlage, while the bridges feature chamfering and Côtes de Genève embellishments, allowing for appreciation of the exquisite craftsmanship.
