A Rare In-House Manual-Wound Model

The "Navitimer Cosmonaute," with its unique history of circling the Earth three times aboard the "Mercury-Atlas 7" spacecraft on May 24, 1962, on the wrist of Major Scott Carpenter, is a legendary pilot's watch. This is an all-black version of Breitling's iconic pilot model, featuring a slide rule and a 24-hour dial, imbued with that special story.

The obsidian dial and rubber strap evoke the vastness of space. Powering this timepiece is the "Caliber 02," a rare manual-wound movement among Breitling's in-house calibers. Among the new releases from 2013, and indeed among the many "Blacksteel" limited editions that have garnered such fervent attention from Breitling fans, this stands out as the most classic and commanding.
