The Watch That Connects to Space at World's Fastest Speed
The previous model, "Eco-Drive SATELLITE WAVE," was announced in 2011 as a concept model. It was a satellite wave watch that received date and time signals not from standard radio waves, but from the nearest GPS satellite, and promptly calculated and displayed the current time based on that data.
This is a new model featuring the same mechanism, announced as its successor. This time, it is not a concept model but a flagship product. Furthermore, it achieves the world's fastest reception time of approximately 4 seconds.
While the previous model's case was stainless steel with ceramic accents on the sides and bezel, this flagship model features a full titanium metal case, significantly improving reception sensitivity for signals from GPS satellites.
The hollow case sides are designed with imagery of wings and the sky. The three-layered transparent dial, inspired by jet engine turbines and conceptualized to absorb light and radio waves, is another major design highlight.
