The Successor to the "Moonwatch"
Among the many "Speedmaster Professional" models, only those equipped with the hand-wound "Caliber 1861" can truly be called "Moonwatches." And as fans will know, NASA continued to use the hand-wound model as its mission watch even after the Apollo program, which aimed for lunar landings, concluded.
This new model, which joins this lineage, appeared this yearat Baselworldand is this hand-wound "Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional," powered by the "Caliber 1861" chronograph movement that is not co-axial.
The case back is engraved in red letters: "FLIGHT-QUALIFIED BY NASA FOR ALL MANNED SPACE MISSIONS" and "THE FIRST WATCH WORN ON THE MOON."
The dial, with its bezel's outer edge bordered in red check pattern, is also sporty and attractive. This is an unmissable model for anyone who wants to own a piece directly connected to the Moonwatch.
