Unique Piece from the Les Cabinotiers Department
Born from the esteemed Les Cabinotiers department, which upholds Vacheron Constantin's proud legacy, the "Les Cabinotiers Minute Repeater Perpetual Calendar" emerges as a singular creation designed to delight the most discerning connoisseurs of haute horlogerie. This model represents a significant advancement, drawing inspiration from the Maison's historical movements and introducing an unprecedented ultra-thin, hand-wound minute repeater movement.
This timepiece houses the 1731 QP movement, based on Caliber 1731. Encased within a slim 42mm 18K gold case, this movement integrates both a minute repeater and a perpetual calendar. The challenge for Vacheron Constantin was immense: to combine these two pinnacle complications into an ultra-thin movement measuring just 5.7mm in thickness, while ensuring precise operation, reliability, and user-friendliness. A particularly crucial innovation is the "silent strike governor" developed by the Les Cabinotiers department, which helps to mute the sound of the governor regulating the hammers that strike the gongs.
The hand-wound movement comprises 438 components, some as fine as a strand of hair. It operates at a frequency of 3Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. Its functions include hours, minutes, a perpetual calendar (displaying day, date, month, and leap year), moon phases, and the minute repeater.
