The Early Navitimer, Released 60 Years Ago
An Homage to an Exceptionally Iconic Design

The Navitimer Ref. 806 1959 Re-Edition is the first in the Re-Edition collection, directly inheriting a particularly striking legacy from Breitling's watchmaking history. As a limited edition of 1,959 pieces, commemorating the birth year of the model released exactly 60 years ago, it will be released with its serial number engraved on the case back.

This new model meticulously recreates the design of the 1959 Navitimer down to the finest details. Like the original, the dial is all black, the subdials are tone-on-tone, and the rotating bezel features bead decoration (a beaded bezel edge for grip). And, in the same way as the 1959 original, the dial bears the Breitling name and wing logo in capital letters. The 40.9 mm stainless steel case was also specially manufactured for this timepiece, with the lug shape and finish perfectly replicating the original. Inside the domed acrylic crystal lies the famous slide rule, known to every passionate Navitimer fan. Incidentally, this acrylic crystal was also a deliberate choice, and of course, it has undergone special treatment to enhance scratch resistance.

The only updates from the original in terms of exterior are the 30-meter water resistance and the Super-LumiNova® luminescent coating applied to the hands. However, the color was carefully adjusted to faithfully reproduce the atmosphere of the luminous paint used on the original, enhancing the vintage charm that emanates from the dial.

The movement is a newly developed manual-winding caliber. This in-house manufactured Caliber B09 is a COSC-certified chronometer based on Breitling's renowned Caliber B01. Caliber B09 is planned to be used in future re-editions of historically significant manual-winding models.
