A Tribute Etched on the Case Back: Ship and Jet

During World War II, OMEGA supplied over 110,000 watches to the British Ministry of Defence. Ironically, the high water resistance and precision required for watches worn in combat enhanced OMEGA's reputation, leading to the creation of the "Seamaster" in 1948 – OMEGA's first collection of specially waterproofed timepieces.

This year, OMEGA is introducing two limited edition models that honor the spirit of the original 1948 Seamaster. While faithfully reproducing the post-war original, both models are equipped with the latest Calibre 8804 or 8806 movements.

Both feature a stainless steel case, polished bezel, and a vintage Ω logo in 18K white gold. The small-seconds model has leaf-shaped hour and minute hands, with the minute hand uniquely curved to match the dial's dome. This version is paired with a brown leather strap.

The center-seconds model, in contrast, comes with a blue-grey leather strap.

Both models feature a flat sapphire crystal case back. The surrounding ring is laser-engraved with "SEAMASTER," "LIMITED EDITION," and the limited edition number. In a tribute to the many pilots and sailors who trusted OMEGA timepieces, the sapphire crystal itself is engraved with a ship by Christ Craft and the Gloster Meteor, the first jet fighter deployed by the Royal Air Force, finished with hand-applied lacquer.


Furthermore, both models are presented in a brown soft leather collector's box. Included alongside the leather strap for interchangeable wear is a NATO strap in the original Admiralty Grey color.
