An Ultra-Rare Chronomat

The Chronomat with Roman numeral indices has been highly popular in Japan since its debut. Although already removed from the Swiss lineup, limited editions have been released periodically due to its popularity in Japan.

Meanwhile, the mother-of-pearl dial model, also part of the Chronomat lineup, is immensely popular in the Japanese market. Combining these two elements, the "Chronomat Roman Numerals x Mother-of-Pearl Dial Model" was a particularly rare piece, even among Japan-exclusive releases.

This rare specification has arrived this year. The model is named the "Chronomat 44 Black Roman Mother of Pearl."

While the Roman numeral models have enduring popularity in Japan, they have been announced as "the last" on several occasions. However, according to company representatives, it seems that the Chronomat Roman numeral index models are indeed set to conclude here.

The final model, the "Chronomat 44 Black Roman Mother of Pearl," boasts an additional point that enhances its rarity.

One of these is the brand logo. Breitling has updated its logo this year, but this model surprisingly retains the old logo. The winged emblem and the year "1884" are positioned at the 12 o'clock mark.

And then there's the finishing. While new Chronomat models feature a satin finish on the case, this model, like its predecessors, has a polished finish on the case, bezel, and bracelet. Furthermore, the see-through case back allows a view of the in-house developed "Breitling 01" movement.

This "exceptionally rare" model, befitting its grand finale, is limited to 500 pieces in Japan. The serial number is engraved on the case back.
