Inheriting the Design Concept of the Original Satellite Wave
Limited Edition Model to be Released This Fall!
The "Satellite Wave" Eco-Drive satellite radio-controlled watch, first released in 2011, achieved immense popularity. While the original model was designed to evoke anticipation for the next generation, its successor was finally unveiled at BASELWORLD 2018. The new model boasts faster time correction after reception and incorporates improvements throughout its exterior.

"Satellite Wave" refers to the world's first light-powered satellite radio-controlled watch that receives time information from artificial satellites to keep accurate time. Since releasing the first model, "SATELLITE WAVE," in 2011, CITIZEN has pioneered the satellite radio-controlled watch market.
The original model was highly acclaimed not only for its groundbreaking mechanism that acquired time information from artificial satellites orbiting 20,000 km above Earth, but also for its unique design concept that brought the cosmos closer. As it was a limited edition, it sold out quickly.
The new model inherits the design concept of the original while featuring the F990 movement, an enhanced version of the F900. The F990 also focuses on hand speed, enabling time setting twice as fast as the previous model.
The case, independent of the lugs, represents the Earth, while the metal ring, appearing to float due to the glass bezel, symbolizes the orbits of the radio-transmitting satellites. The multi-layered dial, with its sense of depth, evokes a rocket engine. The case is made of Super Titanium™*, offering improved comfort with a reduced thickness.
Two models are available for the new release. The CC7005-16E, featuring green reminiscent of the original, is inspired by the aurora shining in the ionosphere. In contrast, the CC7005-16F is presented in monochrome, evoking the satellites orbiting in space, each possessing its own unique charm.
Each model is limited to 1,500 units worldwide. However, due to the high international demand for these models, the number allocated to the Japanese market is yet to be determined.
